Gabby Logan’s Extreme Anxiety Over Her Twin Sons’ Safety Leads to Multiple Hospital Stays for Mental Health Issues

BBC Olympics host Gabby Logan has opened up on the difficulties she is facing at home after her children moved away for the first time.

Gabby Logan, who is helming the BBC’s Olympic Games broadcasts, has shared a heartfelt family update about the challenges she’s faced after her twins moved out for the first time, confessing that it’s “really hard”.

Her son Reuben, 19, is upholding the family’s sporting legacy having just resumed pre-season training with his rugby union squad, Northampton Saints, this month.

Gabby disclosed to The Telegraph how palpable his absence is in the family home: “Reuben has just gone back to pre-season. He creates a lot for one person.”

Cracking open the refrigerator recently, she was struck by its spaciousness, noting:

“I opened the fridge the other day and it suddenly looked tiny… I recognised its contents. But we miss him, his noise and chaos.”, reports Wales Online.

Sport runs in the veins of the family, with Gabby herself having competed as a gymnast before an injury put a stop to her trajectory. Meanwhile, her husband Kenny Logan graced the rugby field, earning 70 caps for Scotland.

Terry Yorath, Gabby’s father, also carved a name in sports history as a Wales international football player and lent his talents to clubs including Leeds United, Coventry City and Tottenham Hotspur.

With her son following in such formidable footsteps, Gabby now watches her daughter Lois take flight from the family nest, embarking on a career in show jumping with her sights set on Loughborough.

Reflecting on the quiet that’s settled over her once-boisterous home, she remarked: “I came back from work recently and I thought, ‘This is the future – I don’t know if I can live in a house this quiet’.

“It’s a big step change. (But) I’ve got to embrace it. When you have kids, you want them to fly, have their own lives and be independent.”

However, Gabby acknowledged that watching her children move out also offered advantages, as she now has more time for herself and her partner, remarking: “When I went to Berlin for the Euros, it was the first time I had not really written any schedule for anybody. I just said goodbye and walked out of the door.”

She even managed to return to her sports background, recently completing a marathon, sharing with the South Wales Evening Post: “I read that Piers Morgan says he still feels 30 and I think I’m somewhere in my mid-30s, probably. I know I don’t look it but that’s where I feel I am.

“And I’ve just run a half marathon and it was almost in the same time as when I did one in my early 30s. I don’t feel that different.”

Gabby Logan, the renowned host of the BBC Olympics broadcasts, has recently shared her personal struggles as her children have flown the nest for the first time. Adjusting to the empty spaces left in her home by her twins, Gabby admitted that the silence can be deafening at times. Despite the challenges of adjusting to this new phase of life, Gabby finds solace in knowing that she has raised independent, capable young adults who are venturing out into the world to pursue their passions. As her son Reuben immerses himself in pre-season training with the Northampton Saints rugby union squad, Gabby is reminded of the vibrancy and energy he brought to their home. Even the sight of an uncluttered refrigerator serves as a poignant reminder of his absence, highlighting the void that he has left behind.Sporting prowess runs deep in Gabby’s family, with a legacy that includes her own gymnastics career, her husband Kenny Logan’s rugby achievements, and her father Terry Yorath’s storied football career. Now, as her daughter Lois sets her sights on a career in show jumping, Gabby is faced with the bittersweet reality of an empty nest. While the quiet of her home may be unsettling at times, Gabby embraces the newfound freedom and opportunities that come with her children’s departure. Finding time for herself and her partner, Gabby recently rediscovered her love for running, completing a marathon with a sense of pride and accomplishment. As Gabby navigates this new chapter of life, she remains grateful for the memories she has shared with her children and looks forward to the adventures that await them in the future. With a heart full of love and a spirit of resilience, Gabby Logan is embracing this season of change with grace and optimism.
