Loose Women star Ruth Langsford has been sharing how she spends her alone time with her social media following after her devastating split from Eamonn Holmes left her single
Ruth Langsford gave her fans an insight into how she spends her evenings now she is single after being married to Eamonn Holmes for 14 years.
The Loose Women star took to Instagram to show her followers how she was spending her Saturday evening as she made the most of her time alone.
Ruth, 64, shared a video clip to her social media as she enjoyed a leisurely stroll with her dog Maggie.
Maggie appeared to be taking things easy as the ageing pooch very slowly made her way along beside Ruth.
She wrote: “Maggie on an ULTRA go-slow this evening!” The popular daytime TV star then headed home to spend some time in her beloved garden.
The TV presenter showed off her stunning rose bushes in full bloom as she set about deadheading them in time for Autumn. She captioned her post: “My roses are particularly gorgeous this summer…is it because of all the rain?!! Adding: “Bit of early evening dead heading!”
Ruth found herself struggling recently after her ex-husband Eamonn Holmes’ new girlfriend was spotted wearing a ring sparking engagement rumours. However, a representative very quickly denied that the pair were engaged. Eamonn and Katie Alexander, 42, have been spotted together in recent weeks after developing a friendship during his tough year.
The pair have grown closer in recent months following Eamonn’s split from his estranged wife Ruth Langsford, with her son now confirming that they are together for the first time. Eamonn and Katie initially met via social media back in 2015 and they have enjoyed a string of outings together, including a trip to Ireland, a Beyoncé concert and a Manchester United game. Katie has previously hit back at claims she was a home wrecker after rumours circulated that Ruth had caught Eamonn messaging her behind her back, triggering the end of their marriage.
It’s believed that Katie is “in it for the long haul” when it comes to her bond with Eamonn, with sources previously claiming she hopes their friendship could blossom into a long-term relationship. Sources told the Mirror that since the news of Ruth and Eamonn’s divorce, his bond with Katie has gone from strength to strength.
They said: “She is helping Eamonn through the tough times but doesn’t want to be seen as a marriage wrecker. The friendship has grown in recent months but Eamonn’s marriage has been over for some time. She wants to help Eamonn with his situation and their friendship has grown over a period of time. She feels she will be close to him for a long period and is in this for the long haul.”
In May, the entertainment world was rocked when it was revealed that Eamonn and Ruth had parted ways after 14 years of matrimony and were set to divorce. Strains had begun to show in their relationship, and they hadn’t been snapped together for two years. The former couple share a son Jack together. Ruth and Eamonn had been together since 1997 before eventually marrying in 2010.
